This three (3) day seminar is designed to familiarize first responders and detectives of the procedures and
responsibilities inherent to the investigation of sudden or suspicious deaths. It will also describe the functions
conducted by members of the Prosecutor's Office Mobile Crime Lab Unit and the New Jersey State Police
Laboratory, as well as provide an overview of the types of information needed by the Medical Examiner's
Office to accurately identify the numerous causes of death. Additionally, its intent is to coordinate investigative
efforts among law enforcement agencies by establishing a more thorough understanding of each other's role.
