FEATURED CONFERENCE SPEAKERS  WILL BE:

Bill Bodziak

William J. Bodziak (Bill) was assigned to the Questioned Document Section of the FBI Laboratory for approximately 25 years. In that section he conducted the examinations of Questioned Document evidence and Footwear and Tire Tread Impression evidence on a full time basis. He has been court qualified as an expert in these areas in Federal and state courts in excess of 400 occasions. He is both certified and published in these areas and is also the author of the world known textbooks titled FOOTWEAR IMPRESSION EVIDENCE: Detection, Recovery and Examination, (CRC PRESS, 2000) and TIRE TREAD AND TIRE TRACK EVIDENCE (CRC PRESS 2008). In addition to the many thousands of forensic examinations he has conducted since 1973, Bill also provides training in footwear and tire impression evidence, both domestically and internationally. He is regarded as one of the leading experts in the examination of footwear and tire tread impression evidence.

John Collins

Mr. Collins is the Director of the DuPage County Crime Laboratory, Wheaton IL.  Mr. Collins will speak on the statistical analysis and the role of Stochastics to answer some of the questions posed by the NAS Report and application as it pertains to pattern identification.  This represents a critical area for those of us doing friction ridge analysis and comparison.  His insight should prove of great value.

Edward H. Hueske

Mr. Hueske formed Forensic Training & Consulting, LLC in 1996 following his retirement from 23 years of combined government crime laboratory service in Texas, Arizona and Oklahoma.  Mr. Hueske provides specialized training to numerous federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, both domestically and abroad, as well as serving numerous corporate clients and individuals with their forensic analytical needs.  Mr. Heuske is the author of PRACTICAL ANALYSIS AND RECONSTRUCTION OF SHOOTING INCIDENTS, (CRC PRESS 2006), one of the definitive texts on shooting reconstruction.  Mr. Hueske will speak on the importance of proper crime scene investigation and the critical role it played in two officer involved shooting case studies.

Kimberly Lacken

Ms. Lacken is the Executive Prosecutor for the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.  Ms. Lacken’s extensive trial experience makes her best suited to address the many issues concerned with specialized and expert witness testimony as they pertain to New Jersey Superior Courts.  Ms. Lacken will speak to the many news stories, judicial decisions at both the federal and state level together with the recent NAS Report and how we as witnesses may or may not see these issues filter their way down and affect our testimony at the New Jersey Superior Court Level.
